An EDD-- Experimental
Design Diagram—is a graphic organizer that helps you focus on the important
aspects of an experiment. It should include the following:
Hypothesis (preferably expressed as an “if-then” statement.)
|
IV (independent variable) |
|
Levels of the IV—in what ways is the IV changed? Control—tell whether one is present |
|
How many trials are you planning to have? |
DV (dependent variable) & operational definition of the DV-how is the DV measured?
Constants (which variables are kept the same?)
How could the experiment be improved? (if your EDD is used to analyze an experiment)
