Pre AP Biology

 

Course Description-

Pre AP Biology is an 18 week course in which we cover all living things and how they interact with each other.  Activities are focused on preparing students to continue on to AP Biology.

Supplies-

Colored pencils are recommended. Optional Extra Credit activities may be assigned in which the student will provide their own materials.

Seminars-

Seminars will occur when needed.  They are mandatory, unless other arrangements have been agreed upon with your instructor.

Grading Policy-

Students will follow the grading policies as laid out for the science department:
  1. PAK Grades:
    bulletAssignments :                  15% of PAK Grade
    bulletLabs:                                 35% of PAK Grade
    bulletTests:                                50% of PAK Grade
  2. Late Grades:
    bulletOne day late:  Maximum grade of 75 can be received
    bulletPAK and test is due in the period that the student is assigned, after
    that period the assignment is considered to be late and the one day
    late policy will be followed.
    bulletOn the day after the PAK is due, all work will be picked up and
    graded.
    bulletIf/when student is caught up, any unfinished work can be redone
    with the 75% cap
  3. Final Term Grade:
    bullet80% of Grade is taken from 9 Week Average
    bullet20% of Grade is taken from  Final Exam
Homework Notebook We will require students to keep a Homework Notebook that will be counted as 50% of their PAK grade.  The following items should be included to receive full credit:
