AP Physics Course Descriptions:

412   Advanced Placement Physics B

Prerequisites:
     A. Grades 10-12
     B. Precalculus (may be concurrent)
     C. Entry criteria
Credit: One and One half  (27 weeks) (state)
     This lab-oriented Advanced Placement course investigates the physical laws of nature, including in-depth study of laws of motion, forces, energy rotation, heat, electricity, magnetism, waves, and relativity, following the syllabus of the Advanced Placement Physics B exam.

413   Advanced Placement Physics C

Prerequisites:
     A. Grades 11-12
     B. Chemistry (may be concurrent)
     C. Physics I OR AP Physics B
     D. Calculus (may be concurrent)
     E. Entry criteria
Credit: One  (state)
     This lab-oriented Advanced Placement course examines in-depth mechanics in the first 9 weeks, and electricity and magnetism in the second 9 weeks.  The Advanced Placement Physics C - Mechanics and Advanced Placement Physics C -       E & M syllabi are followed for each term.

 

 

 

 

 

AP Physics B -  A college level course intended for those wishing to take the AP Physics B exam.  This exam is intended for those desiring college credit in physics, but not majoring in science or engineering.  Typically premed students follow this curriculum.

AP Physics C - A college level course intended for those wishing to take the AP Physics C exam. This exam is intended for those desiring college credit applicable to a science or engineering program.
